Beretta Nano Cost - It took less than two years to write a range report for the 9mm Beretta BU9 Nano.

Maybe it's because the Pocket 9s is crowded in the market and we're too busy to review others, but somehow I'll be the first to review it. Anyway, I'm excited to enter without influence in my group.

Following the Ruger LCP and Kimber Solo, but ahead of the Smith and Wesson Shield, the Beretta Nano is a sub-compact, striker-fired (Beretta's first), lock-breech, recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol.

It holds six rounds of 9mm in its single-stack magazine, one in the chamber. Important to note: the Nano will fire with or without a magazine inserted.

This is a plus for low capacity guns when doing a tactical reload. On the other hand, there is no magazine break protection. Simply removing the magazine will not prevent an accidental discharge; Be very careful to make sure the room is clear.

In fact, Beretta's Nano BU9 pistol does not have a safety. Inside, the Nano has automatic striker block and drop protection.

The rounded sides and lack of protrusions guarantee a snag-free trouble-free draw. A small, unobtrusive magazine release button is flush with the Nano's frame and does not interfere with drawing.

Rumor has it that the original Beretta blueprint was chambered in .40 S&W for this little guy. However, Beretta delivered it in 9mm, due to the popularity of the 9mm cartridge;

The Nano is one of the smallest and lightest pistols in its class. At 5.63 inches overall, with a 3-inch barrel and about 20 ounces of unloaded weight, recoil can be sharp when the Nano is chambered in .40.

The best thing about the Nano is the adjustable frame. You see, the Nano is built on a removable sub-chassis - the only part of the gun that is out of order.

What does this mean and why is it good? You can also buy grip frames for it in FDE, OD green and pink. It also opens up the possibility of different grip sizes to fit different sized hands.

Speaking of looks... when you first see the Beretta Nano - especially on a computer screen, you might think, "I've seen this gun before."

Perhaps it's the angular lines of the slide reminiscent of the Taurus TCP or GLOCK-like "safety" trigger. One chap described it as, "Like a GLOCK having a one-night stand with a Taurus."

In my mind. That is neither here nor there for me. Sure, I like a good looking gun, but how it shoots makes it look good.

I recently wrote about "try before you buy," so I decided to take advantage of my local gun rental fleet and give the Nano a try. Especially, since it has the potential—on paper—to be a great carry gun for women.

How Are Criminals Getting Guns? Sometimes, From You

Since my range requires me to buy ammo for its gun rental, I haven't had a chance to try different types. Nano owners report that the gun can be a bit soft on ammo – preferring heavier loads than the 115-grain FMJ.

When I arrived at the range, they handed me a box of Federal White Box 115-grain full metal jacket ammunition. The range officer told me they didn't have any other types of ammo available.

I see it as good and bad. I got to test the gun with cheap ammo, but didn't get a chance to see how well the Nano would shoot a self-defense round.

When in the shooting bay, I noticed the Nano was bone-dry. It works well and I actually prefer it, as I'm not a stickler for cleaning or lube my guns.

I got a chance to see how the Nano performs in less than ideal conditions. I suggest following the manufacturer's recommendation and oiling your Beretta Nano accordingly.

The Nano has a stainless steel insert frame with technopolymer grips. The backstrap has a hard plastic dot texture.

When I held the Nano, it immediately fell into the sweet spot – resting nice and naturally high on the web of my right hand. I held two fingers around the mag, no wonder it had a pinky dangle.

The problem is fully accessible without the trigger. About halfway through my box of 50 rounds, the dot texture started to feel a little rough and aggressive. Finishing the rest of the box is not a problem.

From 5 feet away, I hit the bullseye with my first shot. This is due to the Nano's bright white 3-dot display. Homing in on the target with the dot front sight is clear, fast and easy.

I love Nano's scenes. Night spots are also available if you want to upgrade. After my initial luck, the rest of my group was left with little or no bullseye.

This is a longer trigger pull compared to other compact polymer guns I've used to shoot like the GLOCK, S&W M&P and Springfield XDs which typically have a five and a half to six pound pull.

If you've never fired a gun, consider squeezing the trigger on a cleaning bottle. Think about how hard you have to pull your finger back to get the spray out of the bottle.

Some of your bottles will be easier and faster to produce, while others will require more force.

I was expecting something like the S&W .380 Bodyguard where it felt like a ... squeeze ... before the trigger broke, but the Nano's trigger was faster than I expected.

It felt like a six pound pull. The bridge is clean and tidy. Has this become a bad factor? Absolutely not. For a double-action-only gun, I have no complaints.

The slide racking of the Beretta Nano is very smooth. However, it feels a bit stiff. This may be due to lack of lube.

When it comes to recoil, the Beretta Nano really comes out on top. I have to keep reminding myself that I shoot a 9mm, not a .380.

The Nano is top-heavy, meaning the slide is heavier than the grip. This helps control recoil and grunt when you fire it.

With my initial lucky bullseye and more than adequate groups, the Beretta Nano shoots solidly. I experienced some questionable hits and a flier that I chalked up to errant bullets.

Regarding how the Nano ran during my range session, I had two malfunctions, both double feed. This is probably due to the roughness of the Beretta and the 115-grain full metal jacket load I shot.

The Beretta is definitely a contender as a viable concealed carry gun. I like the snag-free design, no external safety and low recoil.

It's small and easy to hide without sacrificing shootability. It is easy to operate and maintain. Six rounds of 9mm is plenty, because of how fast the Nano shoots.

If you're feeling more confident with more, buy an extended magazine that gives you an extra two rounds and extra grip.

The difficulty with this review is that I did not test Beretta's BU9 Nano with a lot of ammo and for that, I apologize.

Before I get into the scope, I wrote down four important questions to answer when testing the Nano.

Do any of you have a Beretta Nano? I would love to hear your experiences with different bullets. Tell me about it in the comments section.

UNCLASSIFIED Justice Department Announces New Rule Addressing Stabilizing Braces, Accessories Used to Convert Pistols to Short Barrel Rifles January 13, 2023 The Beretta BU 9 Nano is a semi-automatic, striker- fired, micro-compact line of pistols manufactured by Beretta USA. USA facility in Gallatin, Tennessee. As of 2016, it is manufactured at Beretta USA's headquarters in Accokeek, Maryland. The Nano was introduced in October 2011 and features a 9mm Luger. A .40 S&W version of the pistol was developed, but never produced.

It was discontinued in 2019 when Beretta introduced the APX Carry, which is effectively a cosmetically modified Nano.

The Beretta Nano is a compact handgun built for concealment. It has a fiberglass infused "technopolymer" frame and a Pronox finished slide. Pronox is a form of ferritic nitrocarburizing finish similar to Tifer (used on Glock pistols, for example) and Melonite (used on Springfield Armory XD and Smith & Wesson M&P pistols, for example). Nano sights are low-profile 3-dot sights.

The 9mm version of the Nano holds 6 bullets in a column box magazine, for a total capacity of 7 when the pistol is chambered and the magazine is fully loaded.

The Nano is designed with a serial-numbered chassis that can be separated from the frame, a unique feature found only in SIG Sauer P250-series pistols. This allows the owner to legally customize their grips with multi-colored frames without having to replace the components that make up the firearm.

Designed to be used as a concealed carry self-defense weapon, the Nano has no external slide lock or release. In addition, the Nano has no external protection. The absence of these protruding controls reduces the chance of the arms getting caught in the dress on any occasion.
